Supervisory skills workshop offered at Daytona State
DAYTONA BEACH, FL (July 17, 2009) - The Center for Business and Industry at Daytona State College, announces a four-session workshop to develop supervisory skills. The workshop combines short instruction periods, numerous group exercises, experience sharing, and role-playing to enhance the learning experience.
Today more than ever, supervisors need to align the power of people and knowledge with their organization’s strategic goals. In order to do this, supervisors need personal leadership skills to keep employees on track and moving in the right direction; coaching skills to help individuals and teams progress more quickly toward goals; and communication skills to make the case for change in a way that builds excitement and inspires commitment. The Supervisory Skills Workshop provides these important skills. Workshops are offered several times a year and can be customized for on-site delivery.
This course has been offered to over 600 employees from more than 93 local service, government and manufacturing companies.
Classes meet on consecutive Thursdays beginning Sept. 17 and continue through Oct. 8, from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., in bldg. 110, room 249 on the College’s Daytona Beach Campus located at 1200 W. International Speedway Blvd.
Tuition is $295 per attendee; organizations sending four or more employees may take advantage of a $50 discount per attendee. Prepayment is required. For more information, call (386) 506-4224 or e-mail Joanne Parker.
