Daytona State College Women’s Center to host luncheon for National Women’s History Month

DAYTONA BEACH, FL (Feb. 3, 2010) – The Women’s Center at Daytona State College and the Advisory Board are pleased to announce their annual luncheon recognizing National Women’s History Month. Scheduled for Friday, March 12, from noon to 2 p.m., the luncheon will be held in the Mori Hosseini College for Hospitality Management (bldg. 1200), on the Daytona Beach Campus located at 1200 West International Speedway Blvd., Daytona Beach, FL.

This year’s luncheon will recognize current and former female students in the health profession in the greater Daytona Beach area and the keynote speaker will be Dr. Bonnie Sorensen, director of Volusia County Health Department. Dr. Sorensen worked in private practice as an Internist and Endocrinologist for 10 years, has extensive experience as an executive administrator, and is an expert in infectious and communicable diseases. She currently serves on numerous boards and has received several awards including the Outstanding Woman in Public Health and the Public Health Leadership Institute of Florida Award for Outstanding Contributions to public health.

The luncheon is open to the public. Seating is limited and reservations must be made by March 5, 2010. Cost for the luncheon is $15 per person.
